Counselor Camping Retreat Update #1

This Week's Poll

Just got back from a reconnaissance trip to Eisenhower State Park up near the OK/TX border. No Bigfoot sightings to report but it's the perfect venue for a counselor camping retreat we're planning sometime in May or June, depending upon camping spot availability.

Got RV? | Counselor Camping Retreat

We've been testing the waters for interest in our Friday newsletter for awhile, looking for counselors that meet the following criteria:

  • Like to get away from the office occasionally
  • Like to hang out and decompress with other counselors
  • Have an RV or a nice camping tent

Surprisingly, we've had a good number of responses indicating a positive interest already! We'll probably look at 6-7 paid participants (plus spouses/"other") and cut it off at that to keep the group "cozy".

Phillip is planning a Zoom meeting in the next couple of weeks to go over the details and try and get a final count because camping spots fill up fast and early, and trying to get 6-7 spots in the same camping neighborhood requires advance planning. Zoom info will be sent out only to those who have expressed an interest by replying to this email, please.

I will tell you now that this event will earn you 7 CE's, (3 of which will be TX ethics) and none of them will have anything to do with starting campfires or tying knots! Food's included and you can bring someone with you, of course. There will be a head charge for spouses and significant others if they plan to eat with us!

Camping Not Your Thing?

Relax, we've got you covered. We're also staging another Lakehouse Retreat in late April just southeast of Dallas. All of our retreats have "limited seating" to keep things cozy and they all have CEU's associated with them. We try and structure the CE sessions so they're highly interactive and conversational. The food's always great and the lake is right outside your window so bring your water toys and have some fun! Click that Lakehouse Retreat link for details.

Summary

Take care of yourself. Get away from the office and get out of the house, and do it with some like-minded individuals. We have a blast and you'll be glad you did it. Promise!

Plan Smart. Be Safe. Serve Others.
